Chamoli District Magistrate Gaurav Kumar led a quarterly inspection of the EVM and VVPAT warehouse with representatives from political parties. The visit assessed secure storage and ongoing maintenance of the machines.
Double-lock security arrangements for EVM and VVPAT machines were in place and verified as per Election Commission standards. The DM also reviewed the power supply, CCTV control room, cleanliness, and overall security of the warehouse. Instructions were issued to keep all security and monitoring devices in regular working order and to address any technical faults promptly.
During the visit, the DM examined the strong room holding EVM and VVPAT machines from the Brightnath assembly constituency-04, reviewing their safe custody and upkeep. Participants from political parties, including representatives from Congress and BJP, were present and conveyed their satisfaction with the security and maintenance measures in place.
Additional officials present included the Additional District Magistrate, the Deputy Collector (Election), and other officers and staff.
