Preparations for the upcoming Uttarakhand assembly elections will accelerate from 1 October, with first-stage checks of all EVMs and VVPATs, polling-station verification and voter-awareness planning. The final electoral roll is scheduled for publication on 15 September after claims and objections are resolved by 11 September.

In Chamoli, District Magistrate Gaurav Kumar conducted a quarterly inspection of the EVM and VVPAT warehouse with representatives from multiple political parties. The visit focused on safe storage, maintenance, and the effectiveness of security measures including double-lock arrangements, CCTV control room, fire safety gear and alarm systems.
