Dehradun officials and political reps inspect EVM warehouse to ensure strict security and protocol compliance

Dehradun's senior reporters confirm that the district administration, led by District Magistrate and District Election Officer Dr. Ashish Chaudhary, conducted a formal inspection of the EVM warehouse. The visit included officials from the administration and representatives from several political parties. The purpose was to assess the security arrangements, safe storage, monitoring systems, and overall safeguarding of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail machines (VVPATs).

During the inspection, authorities reviewed the security setup at the warehouse, including entry and exit protocols and the related documentation. The District Magistrate directed officers to ensure complete compliance with all Election Commission standards and protocols. He stressed that the warehouse is a crucial part of the election process and that any laxity in security, storage, or monitoring would be unacceptable.

Party representatives, including members from Aam Aadmi Party and Bharatiya Janata Party, were briefed on the security and other arrangements in line with Election Commission provisions. Senior officials accompanying the DM included the Chief Development Officer, EVM Nodal Officer, and other district officers.
