On the occasion of Teacher’s Day, nineteen Uttarakhand teachers will be honoured with the Shailesh Matiyani State Teacher Award 2025 for their exemplary work. The awards aim to recognise contributions to teaching and the overall educational development of students, as well as improvements in school education systems. The Governor, Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd), will confer the awards during a ceremony held on a Saturday.
Among the recipients, twelve teachers are from early education, 6 from secondary education, and one from a training institute. The list includes educators from various districts, reflecting both mountainous and plains regions of the state. In addition, Manjubala, a recipient of the National Teacher Award, will be specially honoured at the event.
The Shailesh Matiyani State Teacher Award is an annual recognition by the state government to encourage innovative teaching, better pedagogy, and holistic student development.
