Mohammad Jishan and Jiya Ansari of Nosegay Public School in Khatima have won gold medals in the boxing competition at Khel Mahakumbh. Their victories have also secured places in the state-level boxing championship. School officials credited coach Lalit Pandey’s guidance and regular training for the achievement.

4 students from Shahid Harikishan Shikshan Sansthan in Ashok Farm, Khatima, have been selected for a district-level cricket competition. Hitesh, Aman, Priyanshu and Aniket Mandal received congratulations from the school principal and assistant teachers, while the institution expressed its best wishes for their future.

Student union elections for the 2026-27 academic session will be held at Soban Singh Jeena University, Sri Dev Suman University and Kumaun University on 29 September. The student federation election will follow on 1 October, with each university now expected to begin preparations and outline the next steps.

Students at Government Inter College Nalaikhal in Pauri Garhwal’s Kaljikhal development block have been moved from a badly damaged classroom after debris began falling from the ceiling and cracks appeared in the walls. A village head has urged the Education Department to act, saying the issue had previously been raised under the District Plan.

On the second day of Hindustan’s Himalaya Bachao campaign, 10 locations in Rudrapur district hosted pledge-making events. In total, 6,204 students from schools, colleges, and institutions took a pledge to safeguard the Himalayas, with the districtwide tally marching toward 21,594 pledges over 5 days.
Dehradun
On Teacher’s Day, 19 Uttarakhand educators will be recognised with the Shailesh Matiyani State Teacher Award 2025 for outstanding work in early education, secondary education and training institutes. The Governor, Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd), will confer the awards at a Saturday ceremony, with special mention for a national awardee, Manjubala, also being honoured.
