Pithoragarh
A 170‑foot Bailey bridge was erected in Kulagad Nala on the Tanakpur‑Tawaghat highway, reconnecting Adi Kailash, Manasarovar and Darma valleys with the China frontier. The bridge, built by the Border Roads Organisation, ends a 16‑day disruption caused by a landslide and debris, and enables all road traffic to resume.

A slope near Chunadhara released debris and large boulders after heavy rain, blocking the Pauni (Pauri) National Highway for about an hour and creating a dangerous mud-cleared zone. A 22-year-old man from Bihar suffered critical injuries at Motichur railway station while attempting to board a departing train on Wednesday morning. He was taken to a government hospital in Haridwar, given primary treatment and referred to a higher centre because of his serious condition.
