In Salat, Almora district, persistent rains have disrupted movement for residents of Dhabrasoural and surrounding hamlets. Debris and falling rocks have damaged the road linking Sollaral to GhodiGhar, severing contact with local markets and the district headquarter. Heavy rainfall in recent days increased landslides along this route, producing multiple breaks in the road. As a result, several hamlets—ranging from Jhadia Ghour to Manari Bakhi and including Ghodeygar, Bagdaria, Choriam, Jevalkhal, Dan, Malla Sollaral, Talla Sollaral, Ghageyachal—are facing severe transport challenges.
Residents report having to walk 5 to 6 kilometers to reach other villages or markets due to the blockage. The blockage has particularly affected daily essentials supply to villages, triggering significant hardship for households dependent on regular goods transport. A local ward member, Bharat Rawat, described the disruption as affecting approximately 200 families in the area.
