At the PNB Chakrata branch, banking services were disrupted for several hours on Saturday as customers queued for transactions that could not be completed. Reported short-staffing meant there were not enough personnel to handle deposits, withdrawals, and other routine banking needs. Customers from nearby areas, including Baniana, Margoali, Kandad, and other villages, reached the branch early in the morning only to find no staff available to assist.

Branch officials acknowledged the problem, with the branch manager stating that several employees were on leave and that a technical issue in the banking system compounded the challenge. The delay prompted customers to contact the district credit control team via telephone to register their concerns.

Around noon, staff from another branch were summoned to Chakrata, enabling transactions to resume. The branch manager noted that the shortage was reported to higher authorities and that additional personnel were brought in to normalise operations.
