Haldwani bureau report: The Rural India Mahotsav’s second day continued at Sheesh Mahal Ramleila Ground despite rain, with musical chairs and a dance competition drawing participants and spectators alike. The event is part of a larger festival featuring more than 50 stalls, with ongoing cultural programs scheduled for each day of the celebration. Officials noted that representatives from different departments will provide information on government schemes to the public during the festival.
Bank representatives from Uttarakhand Rural Bank and Nainital District Cooperative Bank were present, offering details about their schemes to attendees. The event’s organizing committee—led by institutions’ president Suman Adhikari and supported by volunteers including Tulsi, Rama, Kanchan Bisht, Meena, Rinku, Nitu, Heml and Neema—stressed community participation and outreach as key goals of the festival.
The festival aims to connect residents with cultural activities while ensuring people learn about available welfare programs through the department booths and bank program showcases. The results of the chair race and the dance competition will be announced on the festival’s final day, as will the broader outcomes of the event.
