Dehradun police conducted 2 separate operations in the city as part of an ongoing anti-drug drive. In Patel Nagar, officers stopped a suspect near Ahmed Chowk in Kargi Mohalla and recovered 8.39 grams of smack during a search. The individual, named Sadiq, was taken into custody and an NDPS Act case registered. Officials noted that the arrestee has previously served time related to narcotics offenses in 2020 and 2025.
In a second enforcement action, Developmental Nagar police stopped a suspicious scooter. The rider, Rohit Thapa, 39, was questioned and 204 grams of charas were found. Investigations revealed that Rohit operates a fast-food outlet in Dapakthar area and allegedly sold charas to local drug users under the guise of a food business. An NDPS Act case has been filed against Rohit, and the scooter used in trafficking was seized.
