A fire broke out at around 6:00 AM at Kotdwar’s Jhandachowk Tourist Complex on Wednesday, destroying goods in 3 shops and damaging others on the first and second floors. A 14-year-old student from Pithoragarh’s Madgaon village died after collapsing on his way home from a morning run, with doctors initially suspecting a heart attack. His 44-year-old mother later died after entering the Saryu River near Ghat, prompting a search by police and SDRF personnel.

A 14-year-old girl from Doiwala went missing after being swept away during Ganpati idol immersion near Laljiwala Basti in Haridwar’s Nagar Kotwali area. Police and SDRF teams searched through Wednesday night and resumed operations on Thursday, but no trace had been found by late evening, officials said.
