Authorities in Rudraprayag have raised vigilance around Chirbasa on the Kedarnath walking route because of the possibility of falling rocks. District Magistrate Vishal Mishra said the location has repeatedly faced landslide-related problems, highlighting a continuing safety concern for people travelling through the area.
Almora
Buses and heavy vehicles were seen using Almora’s Quarab bypass on Friday despite a district administration ban imposed until further orders. The restriction followed repeated landslides and safety concerns on the route. Light vehicles remain permitted, while larger vehicles have been directed to 2 alternative roads.
Bageshwar
Water levels have risen again in the lake formed on the Shambhu river in Kuwari, Kapkot tehsil, submerging the local cremation ground. An administration and irrigation department inspection found that water is draining for now, but continuing landslides remain a threat and may require expert intervention for a lasting solution.
Dehradun
More than 50 lakh pilgrims have visited Uttarakhand’s Char Dham shrines by 10 September, putting the annual pilgron course for a possible new record. The second phase begins on 15 September, when officials expect visitor numbers to rise, while landslide-prone stretches could create traffic challenges on the mountain routes.

Rural areas are facing disrupted connectivity with the district headquarters, while snowfall in high-altitude areas has brought colder conditions to Nandanager, Joshimath, Karnaprayag and Ghat.
Bageshwar
Heavy rainfall keeps pressing in Bageshwar as the Saryu and Gomati rivers swell. Landslides have blocked 8 rural motor routes, disrupting travel for residents and forcing temporary detours. Authorities inspect damaged stretches and plan temporary crossings where feasible.
Almora
A storm drenched Almora after a brief lull, flooding city streets and causing mudslides that blocked 12 rural routes. Rivers like Ramganga and Koshi swelled as residents faced rain-induced fear and market quiet.
