Nainital water contamination: 6 engineers suspended after 2 deaths, 400 fall ill
6 engineers from the Jal Sansthan and Jal Nigam have been suspended after contaminated drinking water in Nainital’s Jyolikot area was linked to jaundice and diarrhoea. More than 400 people fell ill and 2 died, prompting protests, High Court scrutiny and corrective measures including water testing, chlorination and tanker supplies.
