Around 600 graduate resident doctors at 4 Uttarakhand government medical colleges are boycotting work over a demand for higher stipends. The action has disrupted outpatient services and poned routine surgeries, with the strongest impact reported at Haldwani’s Sushila Tiwari Hospital, a major referral centre for patients from Kumaon’s hill districts.

Uttarakhand recorded 25 additional H1N1 infections after 115 samples were tested, taking the reported total to 408. Dehradun accounted for 11 of the new cases. Health teams also identified 5 dengue patients and surveyed 11,872 homes as officials stepped up disease-control measures across the city.
