ABVP-backed presidential candidate Shubham Kumar has received support from secretary candidate Kuldeep Karki and university representative candidate Tanmay Bhandari in the DSB Campus student union election in Nainital. The announcement was made at a meeting attended by more than 200 students, with Kumar promising to prioritise student concerns and their resolution.

Nomination papers for Chamoli’s college student union elections were completed on Thursday, with candidates campaigning through rallies and seeking support from students. Campuses reported 11 nominations at Gairsain, 10 at Talwari-Tharali, 12 at Nagnath-Pokhari and multiple contests at Karnaprayag. Withdrawal, final scrutiny, voting and counting are scheduled for 26 and 29 September.

The student union election at PG College in Uttarkashi has drawn 12 nominees across 6 s. Amit Shah of Om Group, Kapil Aswal of Aryan Group and Shivam Rana of ABVP will contest the president’s position, while NSUI has entered the race for secretary. Scrutiny and withdrawals are scheduled for 26 September.
Bageshwar
The nomination stage for student-union elections at Pandit Badridatt Pandey Campus in Bageshwar ended on Thursday, with 18 candidates entering different races. The contest for the president’s features Umesh Shahi of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad and Rahul Kumar of the National Students’ Union of India.

The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad’s Doiwala unit has named 6 candidates for the 2026-27 student union election at Shaheed Durga Mall Government graduate College.
