NEW TEHRI: Police are investigating the death of a 32-year-old company supervisor whose body was found inside a hotel room at the Tehri district headquarters. He was employed by a company carrying out cable work for BSNL and had been staying alone at the hotel for 2 years.

The deceased was identified as Sunil Kumar, son of Shyam Lal, a resident of Mathola in Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur district. Police said he was found hanging from a ceiling fan hook with the help of a bedsheet.

According to Circle Officer Chandramohan Singh, police received information at about one:30 PM on Saturday that the room had remained locked since the morning. Officers reached the hotel and opened the door before entering the room.
