The Indian Army’s Agniveer recruitment rally began at the Bengal Engineer Group and Centre in Roorkee on Monday, with candidates arriving from 7 Uttarakhand districts and Uttar Pradesh.

Joint Magistrate Deepak Ramchandra Seth inaugurated the rally by flagging it off. The recruitment process will continue from 5 to 23 October 2026.

Categories and eligibility

Recruitment is being conducted for Agniveer General Duty, Technical, Tradesman for 8th and 10th pass candidates, Clerk and Store Keeper Technical categories.

According to the Army Recruiting Office, Lansdowne, only candidates who passed the online Common Entrance Examination held from one to 12 June 2026 are eligible to participate. Candidates must report according to the date and time mentioned on their admit cards.

The participating Uttarakhand districts are Chamoli, Dehradun, Haridwar, Pauri Garhwal, Rudraprayag, Tehri Garhwal and Uttarkashi. Eligible candidates from Uttar Pradesh are also taking part in the recruitment process.

Arrangements and warning

Officials expect more than 1,000 candidates to take part in the process each day. The administration has arranged accommodation, transport and other facilities for candidates attending the rally.

The Army and district administration have urged candidates to remain alert against touts and middlemen. Officials said the recruitment will be conducted transparently and on merit, and advised candidates not to pay money to anyone promising assistance.
