To reduce strain from increasing patient numbers, the Coronation Hospital has begun relocating its dental unit to Gandhi Shatabdi Hospital in Dalanwala. The transition includes dental chairs and all treatment equipment being moved so that dental services will be fully available at Gandhi Hospital once the process is complete. Officials say the shift is being carried out in phases and is expected to be fully ready by Tuesday. The Nehtr department has already been shifted to Gandhi Shatabdi Hospital, and the dental unit will operate permanently from the new site. Hospital authorities note that the move should streamline patient flow and resource use across departments.
Under the new arrangement, all 5 dental physicians currently stationed at Coronation Hospital will treat patients at Gandhi Hospital, with each doctor having access to a dedicated dental chair. The unit is equipped with all needed facilities for dental procedures, ensuring patients do not need to seek care at other hospitals. The management also says departmental reorganization is aimed at improving patient convenience and optimising available resources.
The relocation is expected to ease long queues at registration and billing counters, a common bottleneck at Coronation Hospital due to high patient numbers. Once the transfer is complete, patients and their attendants should experience smoother processes and faster access to dental care and related documentation.
