Bodies of all 6 people killed in the Chamoli helicopter crash have been recovered and sent to their homes from Dehradun Airport. The remains were transported after -mortem examinations and chemical procedures at AIIMS Rishikesh.

The helicopter, operated by Trans Bharat Aviation, crashed into a hillside on Friday while flying from Badrinath to Sahastradhara helipad. The pilot and 5 pilgrims died in the accident.

Bodies moved through Rishikesh and Dehradun

Rescue teams recovered the bodies before they were taken to AIIMS Rishikesh. After the required procedures were completed there, the remains were brought to Dehradun Airport for onward transportation.

Pilot Himanshu Sabharwal, 48, was sent to Delhi by road. The bodies of Pratap, 41, VB Shankar Gowda, 39, Sudhir K, 50, and HS Nataraja, 51, were transported to Bengaluru on an IndiGo flight.

The body of Arun Saluke, 44, was first flown to Delhi on IndiGo. From Delhi, it will be sent onward to Goa.

The arrangements ensured that the deceased could be taken to their respective homes after the recovery operation and medical procedures. The crash had killed all 6 people aboard the helicopter, including the pilot.
