Residents of Gram Sabha Chamasaari in Mussoorie have asked Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi to address long-standing road, bridge and landslide-related problems in the area. A delegation led by village head Vikram Rawat submitted a memorandum detailing the demands.

The villagers said a permanent bridge at Mausi Fall is urgently needed. In its absence, they said, the village loses road connectivity completely during the monsoon, creating difficulties for residents who need to travel in and out of the area.

Road work remains incomplete

The delegation also sought the start of construction on the remaining 3 kilometres of the Chamasaari-Barloganj road. According to the villagers, work has been completed on 4 kilometres of the route, but construction on the remaining section has not yet begun.

Residents said the incomplete road creates particular difficulties for schoolchildren, women and elderly people who depend on the route for regular travel. The memorandum asked for action to complete the pending stretch.

Landslide inspection sought

The villagers also raised the issue of a landslide site. A request had been sent to the Disaster Mitigation Department for a technical inspection and expert-led treatment, but the residents said no progress had been made so far.

They asked for the site to be assessed by technical experts and for appropriate treatment measures to be taken. The demand was included among the issues presented to Minister Joshi.

The delegation included Vikram Rawat, Sunil Sajwan, Pradeep, Mohan, Kunwar Rawat, Arjun Sharma, Vikas Rawat, Vipin Rawat, Kaushik Jerwan, Mohit, Rohit, Sanjeev, Rajendra, Vijay, Gabbar Panwar, Ramesh, Vinod Rawat, Bhupendra Rawat, Happy Singh, Manjeet, Veer Singh, Naru Thapa and Ashish Panwar, among others.

Conclusion

Chamasaari residents have formally sought a permanent bridge at Mausi Fall, completion of the remaining 3-kilometre road section and technical action at the landslide site, citing serious monsoon and daily travel difficulties.
