With festivals on the horizon, the security ure in Bhagwanpur has been tightened as directed by senior police officials in Haridwar. Local police under the kotwali Bhagwanpur took charge of the surprise checks and engaged with business owners to reinforce compliance.
During checks, the visiting teams scrutinized registers for names, addresses, mobile numbers and identification documents of patrons and guests. Establishments were reminded to deny room access to anyone lacking valid identification. Checks also extended to external workers employed by venues, with instructions issued to complete verifications promptly if pending.
CCTV infrastructure and coverage at entry and exit points figured prominently in the assessment, with orders to keep cameras active continuously. The sweep aimed to deter illegal alcohol, drug trafficking and any suspicious or illicit activity within different sections of the premises.
