An eye-donation awareness program was conducted at Almora District Hospital and Ranikhet Sub-district Hospital as part of a broader eye-donation fortnight. The event, led by the Chief Medical Officer, highlighted the potential impact of eye donation on sight for those in need and emphasized that donation can help individuals with eye tissue diseases regain or retain vision.
During the program, ophthalmology specialists examined 50 participants to assess eye health and discussed conditions such as cataracts, eye infections, glaucoma, and routine eye checkups. Attendees were advised to pursue regular eye examinations, especially children, older adults, and people who spend long hours on mobile devices or computers.
