Police have arrested 3 men after 6 or 7 shots were allegedly fired at a tea stall near Haridwar railway station. The stall operator’s wife suffered pellet injuries to a toe on her right foot. A country-made pistol and a live cartridge were recovered from one accused, while 2 others remain under search.

Police in Haridwar’s Kankhal area have registered a case after Tarun alleged that he was assaulted near Hanuman Ghadi Puliya and threatened with death. He also accused Lalit Ved of pressuring him over property and caste-related issues. The complaint states that the assault caused serious injuries.
Pithoragarh
Anju Dhami, 26, was bitten by a snake while working near her home in the Vishad area of Pithoragarh on Friday evening. Her family took her to the district hospital, where an emergency medical team began treatment. Doctors said her condition is stable, and treatment remains underway.
Rishikesh
The Rishikesh-Karnaprayag rail project has achieved a major construction milestone with the breakthrough of Escape Tunnel-1. The 10.847-kilometre tunnel is described as India’s second-longest railway tunnel. The work advances a 125-kilometre line intended to connect Rishikesh with Karnaprayag through the mountainous Garhwal region of Uttarakhand.

Patel Nagar police have arrested Satyam Kumar’s former girlfriend and another man in connection with the Barowala shooting. Police allege she hired a shooter for ₹5 lakh after Kumar became engaged to another woman. The alleged shooter was injured during an exchange of fire, while another suspect remains untraced.

Dozens of villages in the Paligad and Dashjyula areas of Tehri’s Jaunpur block remain without a direct road connection because a 1.5-kilometre section of the Odarsu-Bangseel motor road is incomplete. Residents say the missing link is affecting daily travel and tourism, while officials cite pending forest clearance and revised alignment approval.

Police in Almora have registered an FIR after a family from Bageshwar alleged that a restaurant operator and his son assaulted them at a Mall Road hotel. The complaint says the victim suffered a serious eye injury and later received a threat involving petrol after the family reached the police station.
Bageshwar
Traffic police in Bageshwar inspected school buses and vans under Operation Prahaar, checking documents, first-aid kits, fire extinguishers, seating capacity and window grills. Officials also directed school authorities and drivers to follow safety rules. Action was taken against 32 traffic violators, while 8 people faced challans for disturbing public peace.

A fire broke out in the control room of a BSNL tower at a complex in Herbertpur on Saturday morning. Police and fire service personnel brought the blaze under control. Batteries, panels, wiring and other equipment were damaged, while officials said the telecom company suffered losses running into lakhs.
Tehri
The primary school in Paluni village, Tehri’s Bhilangna block, has developed cracks after years without proper maintenance and repeated rain damage. Village representatives want the district administration to inspect the building, approve funds and either repair it immediately or arrange a safe alternative for its 19 students.
