Rudrapur faced an 8-hour electricity shutdown on Sunday as UPCL replaced 33 KV lines and shifted infrastructure linked to the Bhadipura and Matkota substations. The interruption affected residential neighbourhoods, markets and industrial units, while residents reported problems with cooling, water pumps, mobile charging and essential online work.
Haridwar
A 63-year-old resident of Haridwar’s Sidcul police station area and his wife reported unauthorised withdrawals of 99-99 thousand rupees from their separate bank accounts. Police have registered a case against unidentified accused persons and are examining the transactions, including a transfer linked to a Punjab National Bank account in Gurugram.

A Delhi-based company owner has accused 2 industrialists of taking control of his Pantnagar factory, machinery and goods after rent payments were disrupted during the Covid period. Following a court direction, Pantnagar police have registered a case and begun investigating the allegations, which include the alleged disappearance of machinery and raw and finished stock.
