Song River health survey to cover 36 sites across 80 KM, tracking biodiversity and pollution stress
Uttarakhand’s SARRA has begun a 6-month bio-indicator study of the Song River from Kaddukhal in Tehri to its Ganga confluence near Dehradun. Researchers will examine aquatic insects, butterflies, wild bees, dragonflies, damselflies and birds to assess water quality, habitats and ecological pressures linked to the proposed dam, mining and urbanisation.
