Bear sightings and attack incidents in populated parts of Uttarakhand are increasing, particularly in Chamoli and Uttarkashi. Experts say bears seek extra food before hibernation to build body fat, prompting the Forest Department to increase patrols, install camera traps and remove waste near residential areas.
