Uttarakhand Congress Vice President Suryakant Dhasmana has described a letter from party in-charge Kumari Selja to senior leader Harish Rawat as an appeal, not a notice.

Speaking in a video, Dhasmana said the letter expressed the party’s expectation that Rawat would guide its leaders and workers as the elections approach. He added that the Congress leadership should not be seen as divided.

Dhasmana identified Harish Rawat, Pritam Singh, Ganesh Godiyal, Dr. Harak Singh Rawat, Karan Mahara and Leader of the Opposition Yashpal Arya as the party’s frontline leadership in Uttarakhand.

He called Harish Rawat the Congress’s most senior leader in the state. According to Dhasmana, Rawat became Uttarakhand’s first Pradesh Congress President when the state was formed and served in that position twice.

Dhasmana also referred to Rawat’s other roles, including national general secretary, responsibility for various states and service as a Union Minister. He said the party expected Rawat to share his views and experience whenever necessary.
