Haldwani will follow a traffic diversion and parking plan for Dussehra celebrations on 20 October 2026, according to a notice shared by Nainital Police. The arrangements will begin at afternoon 2:00 and remain in force until the programme concludes.
The announcement is intended to help people plan their journeys before travelling through the city during the festival. It does not provide route-by-route diversion or parking details in the available information.
Advice for commuters
Residents and visitors have been urged to check the traffic plan before leaving home. The notice also asks people to give preference to public transport and walking where possible.
That advice is aimed at reducing inconvenience during the period covered by the arrangements. People travelling for the Dussehra programme should allow for the possibility of changed traffic movement and review the applicable instructions before starting their journey.
The traffic and parking measures will continue until the event ends. The announcement does not specify a separate closing time because the end of the programme will determine when the arrangements are withdrawn.
