Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has placed Khatima’s development among his priorities, saying the town will be equipped with better facilities and developed as a model town for the state.

Dhami made the remarks during a meeting with residents and public representatives at Lohiyahead helipad in Khatima on Wednesday. He heard their concerns and instructed officials to act on the complaints without delay and according to priority.

The chief minister said the administration must resolve public issues within a fixed timeframe. The aim, he said, is to prevent residents from making unnecessary visits to government offices for solutions.

Development plan for Khatima

Dhami said work was continuing to improve Khatima’s infrastructure and public services. He added that a development blueprint for the town had already been prepared.

During his discussion with elected representatives, the chief minister reviewed the area’s development requirements and repeated his commitment to strengthening services in line with public expectations. He identified rail connectivity, roads, healthcare and education among the areas where work is continuing.

He said development activity would continue until the area achieves comprehensive progress. His stated approach combines administrative accountability with time-bound disposal of public complaints and satisfactory solutions for residents.

Government’s stated approach

Dhami said the government was working around the principles of simplification, resolution and satisfaction. Under this approach, officials are expected to remain accountable and ensure that complaints receive meaningful action.

The meeting also brought local representatives and senior officials together as Khatima’s development needs were discussed. Those present included Mohini Pokhariya, municipal chairperson Ramesh Chandra Joshi, former MLA Prem Singh Rana, Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha state vice-president Satish Chandra Bhatt, Bhawani Bhandari, Varun Aggarwal and Randeep Pokhariya.

District Magistrate Nitin Singh Bhadauria, Additional Superintendent of Police Ajay Ganpati and Additional District Magistrate Pankaj Upadhyay were also present.

After the meeting, Dhami left by helicopter for Dehradun. The officials’ directions on the complaints and the implementation of the prepared development plan will determine how the announced priorities move forward.

Conclusion

Dhami has promised continued development in Khatima, stronger citizen facilities and faster handling of public complaints, with the town’s proposed transformation into a state model town as the central goal.
