Pauri
Monkey attacks in Devprayag have injured 2 women travellers and a child over the past 2–3 days, according to local accounts. The incidents occurred near the Bhagirathi bridge, the confluence and the bathing platform, prompting residents to fear for children travelling to school. A forest team is being called to capture the monkeys.
Rudraprayag
Rudraprayag police traced Ganesh Prasad after his wife reported that he had been away from home for about 7 years for work. Officers located him using his mobile number and handed him over to his mother, wife, maternal uncle and brother-in-law on 20 September 2026.
Uttarkashi
Uttarkashi district is developing 14 view points, selfie points and signs along the Gangotri and Yamunotri pilgrroutes. The project, costing about 31.32 lakh rupees, aims to improve rest facilities and make the journey more convenient and memorable for pilgrims visiting the Char Dham shrines.
Champawat
BJP workers held a demonstration at Champawat Motor Station on Monday, protesting what they described as an objectionable remark by Rahul Gandhi. Led by district president Govind Samant, the protesters demanded an apology from Gandhi and the Congress party, while accusing them of targeting the Modi government’s achievements.
Khatima
Mohammad Jishan and Jiya Ansari of Nosegay Public School in Khatima have won gold medals in the boxing competition at Khel Mahakumbh. Kotdwar police have arrested Abdul Razzaq in West Bengal in connection with an alleged online fraud involving 1,34,999 रुपये from a bank account. The case began after a complaint by Madhu Negi, while Pauri SSP had announced a 2,000 रुपये reward for information leading to the accused’s arrest.
Uttarkashi
Apple grower Sundas of Duchanu village in Uttarkashi has created a -harvest business model with government support. His grading, sorting and packaging facilities have increased his income, helped nearby growers add value to their produce and provided seasonal work for 20 to 25 local residents during the apple season.
Kashipur
The Kashipur Distributors Association has urged the government to reconsider a proposed 0.4% charge on digital transactions from 15 October. Association representatives said distributors, retailers and wholesalers are already facing a slowdown, growing online competition and narrow margins, making any additional payment burden difficult for local businesses to absorb.

Khushi Kashyap, the student vice-president at Government graduate College in Ramnagar, has submitted a police complaint alleging death threats and attempts to disrupt the student union election. She said unknown people targeted her while she supported her friend Yashoda, who is contesting the vice-president . Police said the complaint is being investigated.
Chamoli
Gajendra Singh Rawat has been elected president of the Chamoli-Rudraprayag District Cooperative Bank for a second term. During a welcome visit to his home area in Chamoli’s Nijmula Saptakund Valley, he said the bank would focus on strengthening village economies and expanding opportunities for women and young people through cooperative schemes and loans.
