A 63-year-old resident of Haridwar’s Sidcul police station area and his wife reported unauthorised withdrawals of 99-99 thousand rupees from their separate bank accounts. Police have registered a case against unidentified accused persons and are examining the transactions, including a transfer linked to a Punjab National Bank account in Gurugram.

Haridwar District Jail superintendent Manoj Kumar Arya reported threatening calls and WhatsApp messages linked by the caller to the Lawrence Bishnoi group. The caller allegedly demanded special treatment for inmate Sheela and warned jail officials of serious consequences. Sidkul police have registered a case and are using surveillance and cyber-cell assistance to trace the caller.

A 36-year-old woman died after slipping into a deep ravine while collecting grass in the forest near Tefna village in Chamoli’s Karnaprayag block. Nandprayag police, assisted by local residents, recovered her body and handed it to the family after completing the required panchnama procedure.
Roorkee
A Scorpio carrying 9 women and a child overturned after striking a highway divider near Crystal World in the Shantarshah outarea on Sunday. The group was returning to Saharanpur after a Ganga bath in Haridwar. Police took 2 injured women to a private hospital, while the driver and other passengers remained safe.
Pauri
A bear attacked 54-year-old Kuldeep Singh while he was returning from work near Kanda village in Pauri Garhwal. Singh suffered serious injuries and is receiving treatment at Hans Hospital in Satpuli. The Forest Department has provided ₹30,000 in immediate assistance and said another ₹70,000 will follow.

Uttarkashi traffic police carried out an evening checking operation across the district headquarters and nearby areas to improve road safety. Officers issued challans to 23 drivers, arrested 2 people allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol, seized their vehicles and towed 3 vehicles from no-parking areas.

Uttarkashi District Magistrate Prashant Arya inspected the approximately 5-km trekking route to Yamunotri Dham on Sunday. Departments were told to repair damaged structures, improve sanitation, maintain drinking-water and toilet facilities, and keep medical teams, machinery and workers ready before visitor numbers rise during the second phase of the pilgr.
Bageshwar
Police recovered the body of 28-year-old Kishan Ram from the Saryu river near Dhan in Almora district’s Seraghat area on Sunday. Kishan, from Bimaula village in Bageshwar district, had been missing since 8 September. His family reported him missing at Baijnath police station on 11 September. The cause of death remains unconfirmed.

Residents of Thalidhar in Bageshwar’s Kapkot area continued their 53-day road protest after relatives carried a woman home from the district hospital in a doli. Villagers say the lack of road access leaves people dependent on difficult, rocky paths and want the government to issue an order for road construction.

Jyoti Prakash has been chosen without opposition to lead the management committee of Acharya Narendra Dev Inter College in Khatima. Dr Neeta Bora Sharma will become deputy manager, while Harpreet Singh and Lokman Singh were selected for the chairperson and treasurer positions during an education department-supervised election.
