Congress has begun a village outreach campaign in the Someshwar assembly constituency, focusing on development projects that remain incomplete. The first stop was Chanoli, where a bridge has reportedly remained unfinished for about 13 years despite repeated demands from villagers and the gram pradhan. Leaders said the campaign will visit other villages.

Members of the Diploma Pharmacists Association in Champawat have begun a phased protest over 5 service-related demands. The district unit says pharmacists will wear black bands through September 15, seeking changes involving career benefits, sub-centre s, pharmacy regulations, medicine-dispensing authority and pending Char Dham duty payments.
Kashipur
The Bazpur Village Head Association has announced a one-day symbolic lockout protest after saying its 10-point demands remain unresolved. The association submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami through the Block Development Officer on Monday and said the demonstration would begin at 10 am at the block headquarters.

Amit Giri was seriously injured when his scooter collided with a car near the Reliance petrol pump on Sitarganj Road in Khatima on Sunday night. Passers-by alerted police and the 108 ambulance service. After receiving initial treatment at the sub-district hospital, doctors referred him to a higher centre.
Bageshwar
A car carrying 2 people left the Matena-Jinkhola-Bund motor road near Katarmal Gadhera and fell into a 50-metre gorge on Saturday evening. Driver Ramesh Singh Bhakuni and passenger Jagdish Singh Bhakuni suffered minor injuries. Villagers rescued them, and doctors at CHC Baijnath discharged both after initial treatment.

Doctors at AIIMS Rishikesh performed an emergency off-pump operation on a Shyampur resident whose heart suffered a deep injury from a sharp object. The patient, admitted in critical condition with very low blood pressure, recovered after 6 days of intensive treatment and was discharged on 3 September.
Roorkee
Former Roorkee Municipal Corporation property tax officer Mohammad Qayyum has been suspended after allegations that taxpayers were issued fake receipts for house tax and other dues. Vinay Vishal Health Care Private Limited has now complained to the municipal commissioner, alleging that it was also affected in the matter involving ₹5.87 lakh.

Authorities have also been told to stop buying new cattle from outside until further orders, while awareness meetings and regular field visits continue among livestock owners.

Former office-bearer Arun Kumar Shukla, also known as Kinnu Shukla, has sought police protection after alleging that he received repeated threats during the Kichha municipal election. He said a caller displayed a weapon during video calls on 11 September and threatened to shoot him. Police said the complaint is under investigation.

Rudrapur faced an 8-hour electricity shutdown on Sunday as UPCL replaced 33 KV lines and shifted infrastructure linked to the Bhadipura and Matkota substations. The interruption affected residential neighbourhoods, markets and industrial units, while residents reported problems with cooling, water pumps, mobile charging and essential online work.
