A Swift car and a tempo collided near Shyampur crossing in Rishikesh on Tuesday, injuring about 6 to 7 tempo passengers. one person was reported to be in serious condition. Police arrested the Swift driver after allegedly finding him intoxicated and sent him for medical testing as the investigation continues.

Happy, a 26-year-old motorcycle mechanic, died after 2 masked attackers allegedly opened fire at his shop in Shantarshah village, within Bahadrabad police station limits, on Monday evening. Police recovered spent cartridges, examined the scene and began district-wide checks, while the motive and identities of the attackers remained unknown late that night.

A district-level volleyball tournament opened at Government Inter College Satsiling, bringing players from blocks across Pithoragarh together. Early Under-17 matches saw wins for Berinag and Kanalichhina, while Vin and Berinag recorded victories in the Under-14 category. The Kedarnath pedestrian route remains shut near Chirbasa after repeated rockfall, leaving more than 500 people stranded.
