A young man has accused 3 bike riders of attacking him after a collision near Haridwar’s Kharkhari railway crossing. The complaint alleges that one attacker struck his face with a bangle and issued a death threat. Nagar Kotwali police have registered a case and started investigating the incident.
Chamoli
Karnaprayag police have arrested Suraj Kumar in connection with the death of his wife, Jyoti, in Senu village, Chamoli district. Investigators said the arrest followed evidence from the inquest proceedings, -mortem report and preliminary inquiry. Police are continuing to examine the alleged involvement of other family members named in the complaint.
Uttarkashi
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami recognised 4 mountaineering expeditions led by the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering in Uttarkashi and inaugurated a new gaushala at Haldi Farm, Khatima. The shelter can accommodate more than 2000 destitute cattle, while similar facilities are being built at over 60 locations across the state.

Repeated bear sightings around Bamiyala, Kafoli and Nolapani in Chamoli’s Narayanbagar block have raised safety concerns among residents. Villagers say women’s daily work and children’s security are being affected, while crops have also been damaged. After a delegation submitted a memorandum, forest officials sent a team and provided firecrackers to help drive the animals away.

A complaint over ₹8 lakh allegedly lent to a relative reached Roorkee’s Civil Lines Kotwali on Wednesday. The dispute escalated during police questioning, with both sides reportedly arguing and coming to blows. Police calmed them, reprimanded both parties and warned of action if the matter was not resolved mutually.

A 23-year-old woman from Haryana’s Fatehabad has alleged that 4 personnel, including 2 CRPF members and 2 police personnel, sexually assaulted her at a farmhouse linked to independent Khanpur MLA Umesh Sharma in Amroha. Police registered a case at 4:20 AM PM and said all 4 accused were arrested.

3 municipal sanitation workers intervened when masked men allegedly tried to force a woman into a car near Kanan Kunj on Sahastradhara Road in Dehradun. Police have registered a case over the attempted abduction and are examining CCTV footage, the vehicle’s route and a possible family-dispute angle.

Dehradun district administration has suspended lekhpals Jagdish Rathore and Dimple after an initial review found negligence in verifying certificate applications. The action follows FIRs at 2 police stations and the arrest of 2 accused people. An unidentified man’s body was found inside the Kotdwar tehsil complex in Pauri district on Wednesday. Police reached the site after receiving information from local residents, took the body into custody and began efforts to establish his identity. The circumstances surrounding the death remain under investigation.

A Fire Service team led by Shankar Chand Ramola inspected firefighting equipment and safety arrangements at key establishments on the Kedarnath Yatra route. Officials also examined the proposed Guptkashi fire station site and tested fire hydrants at Agastyamuni Krida Maidan and Rampur (Tilwara), directing operators to correct identified shortcomings within the prescribed time.
Uttarkashi
Rain is expected across 10 Uttarakhand districts, while the remaining areas may stay dry. Haldwani experienced sudden showers, strong winds and extensive waterlogging on Wednesday. From 25 September, several districts may face heavy rain, lightning and winds reaching 40-50 km/hour, with the risk of landslides and road disruption increasing in hill areas.
Almora
A ride at the Nanda Devi fair in Almora’s Adams Inter College ground broke late Wednesday, injuring a man and a woman. The man reportedly suffered fractures in both legs after falling, while the woman sustained injuries. Police and administrative officials sealed the ride and began checking its safety, technical condition and documents.
