Social worker Suman Badoni has raised 2 public-service demands in Uttarkashi’s Yamunotri Assembly constituency: restoring 108 ambulance coverage for the Jogat Talla area and authorising more CSC centres in Chinyalisaur to issue worker cards. Officials have given an assurance on the ambulance, while the additional-centre request has been made to the district magistrate.

Burglars entered the home of former Subedar Basant Ram near the Army Cantonment in Sailanigoath, Tanakpur, during the night of 16–17 September. The family was inside when the intruders forced their way through a window and took gold and silver jewellery worth lakhs, along with about ₹1 lakh in cash.

A fast-track special court in Haridwar has sentenced 5 men to life imprisonment in a case involving the sexual assault of a 6-year-old girl. The court also imposed a joint fine of 15 lakh 20 thousand rupees and ordered financial assistance for the child’s physical, mental and social harm.

Haridwar Rural MLA Anupama Rawat led residents from Aryanagar Goth to Mangolpura Tiraha on Wednesday, demanding action on a proposed swing bridge over the Rawasan River. She said the first instalment for the project was released in 2021-22, but construction has yet to begin after nearly 4 years.

A 75-year-old resident was seriously hurt when a monkey attacked him in the courtyard of his home in Kulyalgaon, a remote area of Champawat’s Pati block. Residents say repeated monkey attacks have created fear among children, women and older people, and have urged the district administration and Forest Department to act.

Premnagar police have registered a case against 4 people after 4 Delhi residents alleged that land purchased in Paundha in 2018 was shown and registered at a different location. The buyers said they discovered plotting and houses on the site in 2023, and later received abuse and death threats over the phone.

Bajrang Dal members staged a protest outside Lakkhibagh police in Dehradun, alleging that a City Kotwali police personnel had harassed a young woman and that no action followed her complaint. The demonstration disrupted traffic on Saharanpur Road, with vehicles queued between the railway station and Prince Chowk.

5 youths were arrested after a fight broke out at Pauri bus stand on Tuesday night, police said. Home Guard personnel present at the site intervened before informing the police. The action came a day after 7 people were arrested in another clash linked to an argument in the town.

Fire officials inspected commercial establishments in Rudraprayag on Wednesday 16 September, reviewing safety equipment and emergency exit arrangements. Staff members also received guidance on handling a fire and using protective equipment. The department said inspections will continue, with action possible against establishments that ignore prescribed safety requirements.

Uttarkashi traffic police have intensified vehicle checks in Dharasu and Chinyalisaur ahead of Char Dham Yatra-2026. Officers issued challans to 15 drivers for violations including over-speeding and over-height vehicles, while a dumper driver allegedly found driving under the influence was arrested and the vehicle seized.
