Police raided an alleged illicit liquor-making setup in the forest near Badshahpur village on Thursday night after receiving information from an informer. The people operating the furnace escaped through nearby sugarcane fields, while officers seized 5 litres of raw liquor and equipment and destroyed about 200 litres of lahan prepared for fermentation.

Rajpur police have registered a case against Aman Goyal after a Dehradun woman alleged that he confronted and harassed her while she sought repayment of ₹18 lakh. Police said the money had been lent for a land registration in Purkul, and an investigation is now underway.

Employees of Almora Magnesite demonstrated at the Bageshwar collectorate over the company’s financial difficulties and alleged delay in depositing PF contributions. Their union has sought government intervention and announced an indefinite sit-in from 21 September, saying the protest will continue until steps are taken on the company’s finances.

Police in Khatima have registered an FIR against an unidentified driver after a vehicle struck 2 scooter riders near the Reliance petrol pump on Sitarganj Road on 13 September. Amit Giri and Suraj Nath suffered serious injuries, received treatment at the Sub-District Hospital and were later referred to a higher centre.
Nainital
A joint operation by Kathgodam police and the Kumaon Range STF led to the arrest of 2 men near the Wildlife Transit Rescue Centre in Haldwani. Police said they recovered 1.155 kilograms of charas, valued at about 3 lakh rupees, along with the scooter allegedly used for transport.
Rudrapur
Police in Rudrapur have registered a case after a video allegedly showing several rounds fired during a dispute between 2 groups in the Transit Camp area circulated on social media. Officers have identified the accused as Pravesh Gangwar, described as a history-sheeter, and are searching for him while examining the video and other evidence.
