Dehradun
Mussoorie received rain from 8:00 in the morning through the day on Thursday, bringing strong winds, a sharp fall in temperature and sudden cold. Tourist areas, including Mall Road, remained quiet, while waterlogging created movement problems and schoolchildren faced difficulty travelling to school in wet conditions.
Khatima
Persistent rain has flooded the approach road and grounds of Khatima Sub-District Hospital, creating serious access problems for patients, attendants, staff and nearby residents. The drainage failure has revived a longstanding concern, with local people seeking a lasting solution as more rain remains possible under overcast skies.
Dehradun
A rain-safety advisory circulated by the Dehradun Police account asks people to pause when rainfall becomes intense and avoid routes covered by water. It also warns against approaching electricity poles and wires, offering basic precautions for people facing hazardous conditions during the monsoon season.
Uttarkashi
Rain is expected across 10 Uttarakhand districts, while the remaining areas may stay dry. Haldwani experienced sudden showers, strong winds and extensive waterlogging on Wednesday. From 25 September, several districts may face heavy rain, lightning and winds reaching 40-50 km/hour, with the risk of landslides and road disruption increasing in hill areas.
Others
Rainwater has turned a road in Laxmanpur, within Vikasnagar municipality, into a difficult route for pedestrians and 2-wheeler users. Residents say poor drainage causes the same problem after every spell of rain and have sought immediate action. The municipal chairman said the sewer-line agency has been instructed to address the waterlogging.
Khatima
Intermittent rain that began on Saturday continued through Sunday, leaving several parts of Khatima waterlogged. The worst conditions were reported along Sitarganj Road between the Kotwali and Kanjabag crossing, where submerged footpaths, overflowing drains and dirty water disrupted access for shopkeepers, customers and nearby residents.
