AYUSH interns in Roorkee continued their protest for the 6th consecutive day on Monday, maintaining a sit-in and full work boycott over stipend and other demands. They said the action would continue until the government provides a clear, positive and concrete assurance and agrees to discuss their concerns.

Around 600 graduate resident doctors at 4 Uttarakhand government medical colleges are boycotting work over a demand for higher stipends. The action has disrupted outpatient services and poned routine surgeries, with the strongest impact reported at Haldwani’s Sushila Tiwari Hospital, a major referral centre for patients from Kumaon’s hill districts.
Haldwani
As many as 134 MBBS interns at Government Medical College, Haldwani, have decided to strike from Monday over their demand for a higher stipend. They are seeking an increase from the current ₹17,000 to ₹30,000, while the college principal has warned that absence during internship will be recorded and action may follow under applicable rules.
Nainital
A total of 124 MBBS interns at Government Medical College Haldwani will stop routine internship duties from Monday, seeking an increase in their monthly stipend from 17 thousand to 30 thousand. The interns will protest at Dr. Sushila Tiwari Hospital from 10 am to 2 pm, while emergency services are expected to continue.
