Delhi fishing community protests for SC status and restored traditional livelihoods in Uttar Pradesh
Members of the fishing community protested in Delhi, seeking recognition under the Scheduled Caste category. Uttar Pradesh Minister Sanjay Nishad said the community should be removed from the OBC list and recognised as a group of castes, while traditional livelihoods linked to water bodies, riverbanks and rivers should be restored.
