Residents say the missing link is affecting daily travel and tourism, while officials cite pending forest clearance and revised alignment approval.

Intermittent rain has continued across Chamoli district for 6 days, triggering landslides and debris movement that have blocked 19 motor roads. Rural areas are facing disrupted connectivity with the district headquarters, while snowfall in high-altitude areas has brought colder conditions to Nandanager, Joshimath, Karnaprayag and Ghat.
