A motorcycle rider died at the scene after a car and bike collided near Mayakoti Dat bridge on the Rudraprayag-Pokhari road on Wednesday morning. The deceased was identified as Shiv Lal, 55, from Malyagaon Bora. Police are collecting information to determine how the crash occurred.
Rudrapur
A 40-year-old man, identified as Vikas Batra, died after a truck hit him while he was crossing a road near Jafarpur in Rudrapur’s Dineshpur police station area. Police took the truck into custody after local people stopped it near Tel Mill Chowki, but the driver escaped and remains the subject of a search.
Bageshwar
A woman died and 4 members of a family were injured after their car, travelling from Munsiyari to Delhi, crashed near Betob by Farsali village in Kapkot. Police said the vehicle had developed a brake problem earlier, and an investigation is now underway into the accident and its circumstances.
Dehradun
A 16-tyre truck carrying cement overturned in Dehradun’s Mohabewala area, striking a motorcycle and leaving 2 people dead and 2 injured. Police reached the scene, arranged relief and rescue efforts, sent the injured for treatment and began examining the crash. Traffic on the route was also affected for some time.
Champawat
A pickup carrying 2 people fell into a gorge in Kamajula, within Champawat’s Barakot block, on Saturday evening. Police, revenue officials, fire personnel, 108 ambulance staff and health teams joined local residents in the rescue. The injured driver and passenger were taken to Lohaghat Sub-District Hospital for treatment.
Khatima
Police in Khatima have registered an FIR against an unidentified driver after a vehicle struck 2 scooter riders near the Reliance petrol pump on Sitarganj Road on 13 September. Amit Giri and Suraj Nath suffered serious injuries, received treatment at the Sub-District Hospital and were later referred to a higher centre.
Rudrapur
A 19-year-old man died and his 22-year-old cousin suffered serious injuries after their motorcycle struck cattle near Sidcul Chowk in Rudrapur. The 2 were travelling from Delhi towards Kainchi Dham when the collision occurred on Sunday night. The injured man received initial treatment before doctors referred him to Delhi for further care.
Rishikesh
A Swift car and a tempo collided near Shyampur crossing in Rishikesh on Tuesday, injuring about 6 to 7 tempo passengers. one person was reported to be in serious condition. Police arrested the Swift driver after allegedly finding him intoxicated and sent him for medical testing as the investigation continues.
Khatima
Amit Giri was seriously injured when his scooter collided with a car near the Reliance petrol pump on Sitarganj Road in Khatima on Sunday night. Passers-by alerted police and the 108 ambulance service. After receiving initial treatment at the sub-district hospital, doctors referred him to a higher centre.
Bageshwar
A car carrying 2 people left the Matena-Jinkhola-Bund motor road near Katarmal Gadhera and fell into a 50-metre gorge on Saturday evening. Driver Ramesh Singh Bhakuni and passenger Jagdish Singh Bhakuni suffered minor injuries. Villagers rescued them, and doctors at CHC Baijnath discharged both after initial treatment.

A Scorpio carrying 9 women and a child overturned after striking a highway divider near Crystal World in the Shantarshah outarea on Sunday. The group was returning to Saharanpur after a Ganga bath in Haridwar. Police took 2 injured women to a private hospital, while the driver and other passengers remained safe.

Ram Singh Dhami, a 47-year-old hotel worker living in Tigri, died while receiving treatment after an e-rickshaw driver brought him to a sub-civil hospital in Khatima. Police are examining CCTV footage to identify the driver and establish how Dhami suffered the serious head injury on Friday night.
Haridwar
2 teenagers died after their scooter collided head-on with a car on Kangdi Flyover in Haridwar’s Shyampur Kotwali area on Sunday. Police sent both bodies for -mortem after doctors at the district hospital declared them dead. The collision has renewed concern over safety and traffic management on the flyover.
Nainital
A high-speed taxi struck 6 vehicles on railway station road in Banbhulera area, halting after police detained the driver and drugs/alcohol test confirmed intoxication. No injuries reported among riders of the affected vehicles.
