Rudrapur
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had directed officials to make roads pothole-free by 15 October, but several major routes in Rudrapur remain damaged. Residents face unsafe and uneven travel, while officials say patchwork is underway and repairs on roads under the Public Works Department will be completed within the deadline.
Haldwani
With only 2 days remaining before Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s October 15 deadline, around 22 kilometres of Haldwani roads still have potholes or damaged surfaces. Public Works Department, municipal corporation and National Highway teams are working across key routes, but dust, uneven repairs and unfinished sections continue to affect residents, traders and motorists.
Haldwani
A 7-km stretch from Kathgodam Coltax junction to Kriyashala is riddled with about 155 potholes, forcing drivers to slow, causing accidents and hurting local businesses. Traffic remains heavy with thousands of vehicles daily, and resurfacing plans hinge on sewer work and handover to a new agency.
Nainital
Potholes on Nainital-Haldwani roads are causing mounting health and cost concerns for residents. Local garages report a surge in maintenance costs as suspensions, shocks, tires and brakes wear out faster. Officials say 60+ km of roads need resurfacing and ongoing work has been disrupted by rain.
