Government hospitals in Almora saw long queues after a 2-day closure linked to the weekly Sunday holiday and Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti. More than 1,150 patients reached the district hospital and the medical college-affiliated base hospital, with many seeking treatment for seasonal illnesses, fractures and other serious conditions.
