Pithoragarh
Critically endangered red-headed vulture spotted at 2,650 metres in Munsyari’s Patalthaud
Members of the Monal organisation have spotted a rare red-headed vulture at Patalthaud in Munsyari, Pithoragarh, around 2,650 metres above sea level. The critically endangered bird’s appearance offers a small sign of hope for India’s depleted vulture population and highlights the need to protect the species and its mountain habitat.
