Police in Udham Singh Nagar have stepped up arrangements for the municipal elections in Kichha and Siraulikalan. SSP Ajay Ganpati inspected polling stations, while personnel were deployed across the areas to maintain security during the electoral process.

The investigation into alleged paid appointments at AIIMS Rishikesh’s satellite centre in Kichha has shifted towards an outsourcing agency manager and another person. Police say statements from 2 arrested suspects have indicated money transfers and meetings involving people linked to the agency, while the wider role of AIIMS personnel remains under examination.

Former office-bearer Arun Kumar Shukla, also known as Kinnu Shukla, has sought police protection after alleging that he received repeated threats during the Kichha municipal election. He said a caller displayed a weapon during video calls on 11 September and threatened to shoot him. Police said the complaint is under investigation.
