Uttarakhand declares October 29 public holiday for female employees for Karwa Chauth
The Uttarakhand government has declared Thursday, October 29, 2026, a public holiday for female employees across the state on the occasion of Karwa Chauth. The Chief Minister’s Office said orders have been issued, while Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami linked the decision to respect for women’s faith, traditions and family sentiments.
