Maharashtra traveller, 63, swept into river on Gangotri-Gaumukh trek as snow halts rescue
A 63-year-old traveller from Maharashtra was swept into a fast-flowing river after slipping near Kachchidang on the Gangotri-Gaumukh trail. Forest officials and the SDRF searched the gorge and nearby river stretch on Saturday, but rain and snowfall forced them to suspend the operation. A fresh search is planned for Sunday.
