Chamoli bear activity alarms villages as cattle attacks rise across Pokhari and nearby areas
Bear activity is increasing in populated parts of Chamoli, with attacks on livestock reported in Pokhari, Jyotirmath and Dasholi. The bear reportedly killed 40 cattle last year and about 15 so far this year. Forest officials suspect a change in behaviour and plan radio-collar monitoring to track its movements.
