A district-led enforcement drive against single-use plastic reached Gadarpur, Dineshpur and Gularbhoj, where teams seized prohibited material and collected fines. Khatima
Farmer Tej Prakash was injured when a crocodile seized his leg in a field near Baiis Pul in Khatima on Wednesday morning. Nearby villagers helped pull him free after he raised an alarm and took him to a government hospital. Doctors treated him before he was discharged and sent home.
Dehradun
Clementown police arrested Vishw Deepak Rathore after receiving information that he was allegedly assaulting his mother and creating a disturbance on Turner Road. Police said the arrest was made under provisions relating to breach of peace. The allegation has been reported by police, and no court finding is mentioned in the available information.

Health officials in Haldwani are continuing prevention measures as testing for suspected swine flu cases expands across Kumaon. Tehri district will start identifying ration cards linked to 6 consecutive months without recorded ration transactions from 1 October. Cardholders must collect their monthly allocation and complete e-KYC for every listed family member. Helicopter operations for the second phase of the Kedarnath Dham pilgrresumed in Rudraprayag on Tuesday after inspections by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation. The district administration said flights would remain subject to weather, visibility, wind speed and other safety conditions while preparations continue for an expected rise in pilgrims.

Food safety officials inspected shops and food businesses across Lohaghat in Champawat on Tuesday. They collected 4 samples, including porridge, macaroni, biscuits and oil, for laboratory testing, while 4 buckets of ice cream were destroyed after expired food colour and flavouring were found at a shop.
